About Me

Food is one of my many joys in life. It is a common bond I share among my friends and family. Combining food and travel makes it all the more interesting. I enjoy going out for a good meal with friends and family. The array of various cuisines and our fantastic array of produce really makes Sydney such a great city to live in. Blogging is my hobby and my posts on restaurant meals I have had are paid for and not gratis. Any gratis provided to me will always be stated beforehand.

Dinner in Cagliari

After a long seafood lunch and some downtime, we met up to have cocktails at the top of the bastion. It was so relaxing to sit down with the group, celebrate Maeve's birthday with some cocktails, enjoy the view of the town from the top and feel the sea breeze as we sipped our drinks. For me personally, it felt like there was no longer any other cares in the world to think of!

We then strolled to a relatively unknown 'find' for dinner. This lovely restaurant is not known amongst the locals and we were so pleased to have had the opportunity to dine here. What a funky place! It was like sitting in a cave, so cool! The primary style of dining is shared plates (i.e. tapas style).

Our group practically took over the restaurant. We were served an antipasto platter of Coppa, Prosciutto, Pork Sausage, Pancetta and Lonza. There were 2 types of pecorino cheese, a cheese called caprino, ricotta cheese and aubergine with orange peel dip, basil pesto dip, capsicum antipasto and aubergine antipasto. All served with baskets of bread.

We were then served casadinas - they are various forms of cheese tarts. Then we had a platter of bacon, and pork with a delicious sauce (made of onion, garlic and vinegar).

The fellowship among the group was great, lots of conversations going on and it was such fun! We ended the night celebrating Maeve's birthday with an ice cream cake!

Happy Belated Birthday Maeve! So glad we could celebrate it with you on our first night at Cagliari.
